Fund Development Update

Cross Country Ski Ontario would like to thank Cathy Smart for her work on our fund development platform.  Cathy and her husband are moving to Thimphu, Bhutan for an extended period to work with the Bhutan Canada Foundation and the Bhutan government, supporting the re-development of the Trans Bhutan Trail.   An exciting time for Cathy and her family and we are fortunate that Cathy will continue to support cross country skiing in a volunteer capacity!  Please visit our  Donate/Shop page for more information! Free NCCP online training for National Coaches Week September 21 – 29

National Coaches Week is a week to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. It’s an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.

If you are a new coach, take advantage of the free Coach Initiation in Sport module. This is the first step in coach education.

Enormous Loss – Shelby Dickey

The Duntroon and ski community suffered an enormous loss this weekend with the passing of Shelby Dickey in a cycling accident in North Bay.

There will be a private funeral in several months’ time. Arrangements are being managed by Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, Stayner. The family requests that once the obituary is registered on the funeral home’s website, all messages of condolence be sent through the website found here: https://www.carruthersdavidson.com. A celebration of life will be held at Nipissing University, North Bay on Sunday September 15, 1 – 2:30 pm.

The family wishes for private time and space as they grieve together and thanks everyone for their support and care.

Cross Country Ski Ontario (XCSO) is seeking nominations for the position of Chair of the XCSO Board of Directors.  We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in making a difference at the provincial level.

This open call for nomination for Chair is your chance to help your provincial sport organization develop and grow!
