Engaging youth in cross country skiing
Cross Country Ski Ontario creates, operates, and promotes programs to attract and engage youth in the sport of cross country skiing. Cross Country Ski Ontario defines youth as any person aged seventeen years and under. Many clubs have Skill Development Programs (Jackrabbits) which follow Nordiq Canada’s Youth Program.
We strive to promote an inclusive sport environment for all youth to develop a love of the outdoors, a healthy lifestyle, excellent technical Nordic ski skills and a good level of physical fitness for life.

Check out the Connecting Ontario’s Youth (COY) site for Nordic skiing all across Ontario. The main goal of project COY is to facilitate more communication and inter-club community at the Bunny, Jackrabbit, and Track Attack Level.

Program Levels
Many skiers graduate from the youth programs into competitive programs (racing) at about twelve years. These activities are described in our Athlete page.
In support of this transition, Cross Country Ontario organizes an annual Ontario Youth Championship. Cross Country Ski Ontario’s youth programs are offered by various clubs throughout Ontario. View the list of clubs on our Clubs page.
If you require more information on Youth Program opportunities, please feel free to contact one of the District Youth Chairs, who are listed under Youth Contacts on the Contact Page.
