Cross Country Ski Ontario is excited to launch our Fund Development web page and two fund raising initiatives.
Cross Country Ski Ontario recently launched a Fund Development program with the intention of increasing overall revenues within the next five years.
“We are thrilled adding this critical component to our organization”, says Liz Inkila, XCSO Executive Director. “It is XCSO’s intention that the Fund Development program will ultimately increase opportunities for athlete development; as well as promote greater participation of the sport including new Canadians and First Nation communities”.
In addition, XCSO has launched two exciting fund raising initiatives including the Athlete Development Bursary Fund – Project 142 and the Learn to Ski Bursary Fund – Project 143 through the Sport4Ontario platform. Sport4Ontario is a member of Canadian Council of Provincial & Territorial Sport Organizations to establish revenue generation projects for which a tax receipt can be received for qualifying donations.
Cross Country Ski Ontario (XCSO) provides the framework for Ontario cross country ski clubs and their individual members to participate in national programs established by the National Sport Organization, Cross Country Ski de Fond Canada (CCC). The organization is divided into four geographical ski districts representing 75 clubs and 13500 individual members.
The organization of cross-country skiing activities and the delivery of programs are principally carried out by individual clubs. The four districts (Southern Ontario, Northern Ontario, Lake Superior, and National Capital); as well as Cross Country Ski Ontario reflects the effort of Ontario clubs working together primarily managed by volunteer committees.
