Nipissing NOD Race Series 3 @ Nipissing University

This race will be held on the Nipissing University campus trails.
Registration will be handled exclusively online with Zone4 (www.zone4.ca). Entries
after January 13 will not be accepted.
Confirmation and start lists will be posted at www.zone4.ca and will also be provided
at the coaches meeting on Friday, January 20. Note that confirmation lists on
www.zone4.ca cannot reflect any post-registration changes so it is important to check
with the race office if you have requested any changes.
Race Fees are $10 per race for U12-, U14 ,U16 racers, and $20 per race for all other
categories.

12PM Classic technique, 700m, Individual Qualifiers
NB snow conditions may require the change of technique to skate.
1PM Team Sprints, U18 and up 6X 700m heats per skier, mixed gender
and age categories teams of 2
2PM U16 3x700m heats
Teams of 2 skiers are set by qualifier results, e.g. 1st and 30th, 2nd and
29th, etc.
A an B Finals of 15 teams as necessary
Awards for individual qualifier by age and sex categories
Indoor change and shower facilities are available in the Athletics centre., and eating
areas in the Main Cafeteria by the pond.
The Pond is not yet open for skiing.
Free parking is available on weekends in front of the Athletics Center, and at P8 near to
the trailhead stadium.

The race courses will be marked and groomed for classic technique at Nipissing
University campus trails. There are no fees to use the trails at Nipissing University.

The race course will be marked and groomed for classic technique at Nipissing University

Sofie Manarin Loppet NOD race series 4 @ Laurentian Nordic

The tribute race to the late Sudbury skier Sophie Manarin will take place at Laurentian Nordic on February 12th.
NOD will be supporting the event and we are encouraging racers who attend the Ontario Winter Games the day before to stop over and take on a distance race of their choice.
Dear NOD Racers:
Learn how to get that extra bit of kick or glide, we will help you.
Learn how to take feeds on the fly, you provide the feed.
We realize this is the day after OWG races, but could be a fun stopover ski on your way home.

Ontario Season Finale & 100 m Championships Race – North Bay Nordic Ski Club @ North Bay Nordic Ski Club

Come join us for one last race of the season!The intent of this race weekend is to promote racing later into the season.

This race will have no bearing on any athlete rankings for the Ontario Junior Ski Team or Ontario Ski Team ranking lists. As a result, the level of services and officiating will not necessarily be the same as an Ontario Cup.

Saturday April 1, 2023: 12pm late day Interval Start Skate followed by a complimentary chili lunch and treat buffet for racers and coaches ~3:00 pm Race Start, 100 m Sprints (~85m). Double elimination brackets by
category. Race to be known as the fastest skier in Ontario!

Dryland Testing Camp

The purposes of this camp are to set benchmarks for training progress, and to establish technique cues in weight-lifting and roller-skiing.

Friday June 23rd

2pm: Meet at Nipissing University Athletics Building- 100 College Drive.

  • Camp meeting in Lower Boardroom
  • 3.1km uphill running test (varsity)
  • 1.2km uphill running test (U16 juniors)

Game

6pm: Team dinner at the Lake Nipissing waterfront – 225 Memorial Drive.

Saturday June 24th *Athletes to bring a lunch to practice or return to residence for lunch.

9am: Meet at Nipissing University Athletics Building- 100 College Drive.

Ski Erg Critical Power Test. (NB revised protocol: maximal efforts over 30 seconds, 2 minutes, and 4 minutes with 5 minutes recovery between intervals)

U16 skiers- double poling technique and 10 second sprints

Exercise Physiology Laboratory

2pm: Nipissing Athletics Weight Room.

Functional Movement Screening and Weight-lifting technique.

9am: Meet outside Nipissing University Athletics Building- 100 College Drive.

  • Skate rollerskiing technique work.
  • Starting with activation and drills from parking lot #9 and finishing with College Drive repeats.
