Please take advantage of these courses. We have a fantastic race season ahead and we need a new pool of officials to be able to offer race venues and organizing committees. If each club identifies 5 new Level 1 officials and at least 2 new Level 2 officials, we will grow our officials stream on an annual basis.

In order to take the Level 2, a volunteer will have to complete the online Level 1 first. The courses are free.

Trakkers Ski Club will be holding its annual Open House at Swansea Town Hall in Toronto on Thursday, November 16 from 7-9pm. Come register for the upcoming season, learn about our Sunday trips, learn and sign up for the weekend trip, and have a chance to catch up with old friends. No RSVP is required. The event will take place on the main floor of Swansea Town Hall, which is located at 95 Lavinia Avenue, close to Runnymede station.

$25.00 ticket to be purchased for each morning ski. Please stay in designated area, this is a highly unusual permission to acquire for Nordic skiers. Zero tolerance on skiing outside boundaries as will be shown on site.

This ticket cannot be used on any lift.

2. Hiawatha Highlands in the afternoon

Saturday [ 9:30 am ] Arrival at Searchmont Resort

Purchase ticket for $25.00

[ 10:00] Skate skiing on hill

[ 12:00] Lunch

[15:00] Ski or ski walk at Hiawatha Nordic, Soo Finnish

Sunday [9:30 am] Arrival at Searchmont

Classic skiing on hill

[1:00 pm] Go home

Gear required:

Rock skis (for on snow or grass)

Good skate skis

Good classic skis

Racing skis recommended to bring, so you get used to using them.

Ski boots

Skate, classic, and walking poles. (2/3 aint bad)

Running shoes

snow boots

shades

2 complete sets of clothing plus one dry outfit for going home in.

Rain gear

Lunch and snacks, you provide your own.

 

Objectives:

Technical skills for climbing and downhill, cornering at speed.

Fun atmosphere in a beautiful location

Artificial snow waxing
