Coach and Officials Bursary Program
XCSO’s Strategic Goal #3 is to “Ensure that Ontario athletes, coaches, officials, technicians and event hosts are consistently recognized as among Canada’s best.”
XCSO supports Coaches and Officials on their development pathways in a variety of ways. The Coach and Officials Training Bursary is one of those.
This Bursary Program has two parts:
Part 1. To support coaches and officials who need to travel to take their courses:
Eligible Courses:
Coaching workshop participants: Train to Train and Competition Development Workshops only. (Not evaluations)
Officials course participants: Level 2 and 3
Eligible Expenses:
For course participants who travel more than 200 km per direction to take an eligible course:
- Travel, food per diem (max $45/day) and accommodation expenses for workshops/courses which take place between April 1 and March 31 of any given year are eligible for the XCSO bursary. Please note the application deadline is within 2 weeks of workshop/course completion.
XCSO will cover 1/3 of these expenses to a maximum of $450 per bursary (1/3 paid by district, 1/3 paid by club/individual)
Please fill in the XCSO Expense sheet and send it to Katja Mathys c[email protected]. You will need to upload all your receipts. You will fill in the full amount of your expenses and the expense sheet will auto-populate XCSO’s 1/3 portion.
- Course Registration Fees:
Coaches: apply for the NCCP Coach Bursary Program to subsidize workshop registration fees.
Officials: currently there is no funding for registration fees available at this time. Check with your district to see if there is additional funding available.
Part 2. To support attendance at eligible conferences:
Coaches: XCSO will subsidize the registration fee for the annual Nordiq Canada coach conference for 2 approved coaches per district.
Officials: XCSO will subsidize the registration fee for the annual FIS TD Workshop for 2 approved TDs per district.
