OJST/Ontario Para-Nordic Team: Advance Notice of Training Camp Dates

For those athletes seeking nomination to the Ontario Junior Ski Team (OJST) and the Ontario Para-Nordic Team please be advised that we have scheduled the following:

  • Summer Dryland Camp: July 26-30, 2023. Location: Central Ontario

There is more uncertainty with regards to the on-snow camp and we are working towards releasing these dates as soon as possible.

The intent of getting dates out early is to allow athletes and their families to plan for attendance at training camps. The expectation is that athletes will attend both training camps.

2023 CWG Ranking

The 2023 Canada Winter Games Trials took place Jan 6-8th at the Lappe Ski Centre in Thunder Bay. Based on results, the ranking list and related synopsis is HERE. A final team announcement will be made at the completion of World U20/U23 Championships Trials to be held in Prince George January 18-21.

Para-Nordic Mentorship Opportunity at ON Para-Sport Games

The Ontario Parasport Collective and Coaches Association of Ontario strongly believe that coaching apprenticeship programs are an essential part of the development of a coach.  This pilot program would be the first of its kind as part of the Games Ontario Program. The program will provide up to one coach per sport the opportunity to develop their coaching skills through the Ontario Parasport Games.

XCSO launches Updated Policies

Cross Country Ski Ontario has updated all relevant policies as required by the Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport. Policies can be found HERE.

XCSO is the Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) formally recognized as the governing body for cross country skiing in Ontario. The primary function of a PSO is the development of athletes, coaches and officials and these new policies are compliant with the MTCS Sport Recognition policy.  We invite the ski community to learn more at two Community Updates.  Details below.

Ontario Winter Games/ON Para Sport Games Criteria

The 2023 Ontario Winter Games will take place in Renfrew County Feb 9-12 and the Ontario Para Sport Games will take place in Durham County Feb 3-5.  Selection criteria and other information can be found HERE.
