Heinz Niederhauser Coaching Award
Cross Country Ski Ontario is now accepting nominations for the Heinz Niederhauser Coaching Award. This award was the inspiration of long time Ontario coach Heinz Niederhauser and is presented to an Ontario coach who has made an outstanding contribution to coaching and athletes in our province. Heinz loved coaching athletes and was a strong advocate for long term athlete development. Heinz was the first recipient of the award in 2006. The award has not been presented since 2013.

Topics will include: The importance of friends in sport- group dynamics in youth sport; Promoting your Team; Ski Selection; “Central Governor Theory – What makes us tired?”; Practical sessions including S & C with possibly NST athlete present.

CCC is partnering with the Coaches Association of Canada for the soft launch of the new Coach Initiation module! This Coach Initiation in Sport online multisport module will now be used as a first mandatory step of a new CCC coaching development pathway created to encourage cross country ski athletes (or ex-athletes) to initiate their coach training.
