Annual General Meeting

The 2024 Annual General Meeting and Club Workshop will be held at Chancellor’s House on the Nipissing University Campus, North Bay ON on May 24, 25 and 26, 2024.

Please note that registration closes at Midnight on Tuesday, April 23 Midnight on Monday April 29 for those wishing to stay on-site in the provided accommodation. Registration for Club Workshops close at Midnight on Sunday, May 19. No registration is required to attend the AGM on Sunday, May 26.

We have a great program lined up for our members, including:

Masterclass for Effective Governance and working session designed for you to take home practical tools for use at your club. Target audience: Board Members and Club Volunteers. Facilitator – Susan Mogensen Brown Dog Consulting. Overview:

  1. Good Governance in Practice: Delegation, Role Clarity, and Wearing Multiple Hats
  2. More Results, Less Frustration: Productive Board Meetings and Navigating Tricky Situations
  3. Creating Long-Term Success: Planning, Recruiting, and Onboarding
  4. Closing

Maintaining the Fun in a Performance Focussed System. Target audience: Jackrabbit, Track Attack and Development coaches and Club Leadership. Facilitator Kevin Shields, Canadian Winter Sports and Carleton U Ski Team Coach

Sports Lab and Environmental Chamber. Target audience: anyone who is interested!

  1. Tour of the sports science lab with Kinesiology students
  2. Presentation by Dr. Hartley on his research in his environmental chamber on using heat acclimatization to prepare for competition at altitude. This will include the opportunity to try the chamber and feel what it’s like to train for altitude at sea level.

Coaching a Kids Running Wild Dryland Program: Orienteering and Games. Target audience: anyone interested! This will be a practical session, outdoors. Bring your running shoes and come prepared to have some fun. Facilitator Kevin Shields

The XCSO Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 26 from 10:45 am to 12:30 pm. Staff reports will be presented starting at 8:30 am. Here is the zoom link for those who wish to join the AGM remotely using this link.

Clubs/Districts are encouraged to attend the weekend event.  A travel subsidy is available to each District for members to attend.

Register on Zone4  Registration for on-site accommodation closes on Tuesday, April 23rd at midnight. Registration for Workshop Sessions closes on Sunday, May 19 at midnight. Registration is not required for the AGM.
