2026-2027 Team Ontario Programs and Selection Criteria
Cross Country Ski Ontario (XCSO) is pleased to announce the release of the 2026–2027 Team Ontario Programs and Selection Criteria. This year’s edition has been significantly revamped to provide greater clarity, simplicity, and alignment across all XCSO performance pathways. All material changes from last season are highlighted for ease of reference.
A Clear Pathway for Ontario Athletes and Coaches
Team Ontario programming continues to support Ontario’s performance pathway through three pillars:
-
Camps – a four-tier, LTAD-aligned system from District Camps to High Performance environments
-
Testing – province-wide field testing focused on athlete readiness, movement quality, and long-term development (not performance benchmarks)
-
Racing – a robust Ontario Cup series designed to provide fair, meaningful competition and develop future national-level athletes
Together, these pillars create a coherent system that better prepares athletes and coaches for success at provincial, national, and international levels.
