Coaching Development Update

Transition of NCCP Make Ethical Decisions (MED) Training & Evaluation to a New eLearning Module

Overview

The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is implementing changes to the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions (MED) program. These changes apply to all sports.

What Is Changing?

Current Process

  • MED Training is currently embedded in our ICC (Introduction to Community Coaching) eLearning module.

  • Coaches in our sport have not needed to complete the separate MED Training module.

  • After completing the ICC, coaches could proceed directly to the MED Online Evaluation, which has been free.

New Module (Effective April 1, 2026)

  • MED Training and Evaluation will be combined into one eLearning module available through The Locker.

  • The current standalone MED Online Evaluation will be discontinued after April 1, 2026.

  • Cost for the new eLearning module: $85

What This Change Means for Coaches

1. Coaches Who Completed ICC but NOT the MED Evaluation

  • You may continue using the current MED Online Evaluation until:
    March 31, 2026, at 11:59:59 PM PT

  • After this deadline, the current evaluation will no longer be available.

  • Anyone who has not completed the current evaluation by the deadline must complete the new combined eLearning module (training + evaluation) and pay the associated fee.

2. Coaches Who Have Already Completed MED Training (=ICC) and Evaluation

  • Your completion already appears on your NCCP transcript.

  • You will not be required to complete the new module.

  • You will not receive complimentary access to the new module.

3. New Coaches (Starting April 1, 2026)

  • All new coaches must complete the new MED Training & Evaluation combined module.

  • Once purchased, the module will remain accessible at any time through The Locker.
