Cross Country Ski Ontario is pleased to welcome Alexander Maycock and Joel Haering to our team in two summer contract roles, both running until August 31, 2025. We’re excited to have their energy and expertise supporting our work this summer.

Alexander Maycock joins XCSO as Interim Excellence Programs Lead, providing leadership and stability in programming during a time of transition.

Alex has a high-performance cross-country skiing background as a former Ontario Junior Ski Team (OJST), Ontario Ski Team (OST), and Nipissing University ski racer and coach. He completed both his undergraduate and master’s degrees in kinesiology at Nipissing, and competed at two FISU Games. Last summer, Alex worked in an interim coaching role with both NTDC Thunder Bay and XCSO, supporting Excellence Camps across Ontario’s districts. His experience, insight, and passion for athlete development make him a strong addition to our team.

Joel Haering joins XCSO as Digital Communications Intern, a position supported by the Government of Ontario’s Summer Experience Opportunity program.

Joel is a biathlete and member of the Lakehead University Ski Team. With a passion for skiing, storytelling, videography, and communications, Joel brings a creative perspective and strong technical skills to this role. He’s excited to help grow the visibility of cross country skiing in Ontario.
