XCSO welcomes Alex Roger to the Excellence Programs Manager Position

Cross Country Ski Ontario is excited to introduce Alex Roger as the newest member of our team! Join us in extending a warm welcome as Alex embarks on his journey with us, as XCSO’s Excellence Programs Manager (formerly Technical Director) bringing fresh energy and expertise to our collective endeavors.

Alex joins XCSO with experience in the delivery of NCCP Coach Education at Ontario Cycling and with a high performance background as an Own the Podium Program athlete in rowing. Holding a master’s degree in Sport Management and Leadership from Western University, Alex will play a key role in cultivating innovative opportunities for coach development and mentorship at Cross Country Ski Ontario and managing the Ontario High Performance Sport Initiative program.

Working under the direction of the Executive Director, Alex will specifically oversee the design and delivery of XCSO’s Excellence Programs, including Para Nordic programming. “I think that cross country skiing is a unique sport because it gives people of all ages and ability the opportunity to participate and live a healthy active lifestyle. Reflecting on my history in sport and competing at the Learn to Win stage, I find it incredibly rewarding to support high-performance programs while applying my knowledge in coach development activities”.

As a Certified NCCP Coach Developer with several National Sport Organizations, Alex understands the requirements of capacity growth and delivery of high-quality programs at the club, provincial and national levels of sport. “With respect to cross country skiing and its vibrant community, I am committed to providing athletes and coaches with the appropriate resources and tools to achieve excellence at the highest levels of competition”.

Alex joins the team on June 3rd. Here’s to great collaborations ahead!
