Ministry of Heritage Sport Tourism & Culture Industries FUNDING for Clubs
Cross Country Ski Ontario announces a funding opportunity for member clubs. The Ministry of Heritage Sport Tourism & Culture Industries is providing funding to support the recovery and sustainability of the sport sector. Funding is eligible to all XCSO clubs which operated in the 2020/2021 season or the 2021/2022 season.
Member XCSO clubs supported through this funding will need to demonstrate that they incurred COVID-19-related expenses to operate their programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. These costs may include but are not limited to:
- Increased operating costs directly related to the pandemic (e.g. the costs of purchasing personal protective equipment);
- Reduction of members and membership revenue during the pandemic;
- Increased facility costs required to comply with the Reopening Ontario Act, 2020 and its regulations; or
- Operating deficits to maintain programming for fewer participants.
Applications via Google Forms will be required to access funds. Deadline to apply is Sunday, May 1 at 23:59. Please note, an audit of XCSO and/or recipient clubs may take place. Please ensure you meet the eligibility requirements.
Cross Country Ski Ontario thanks the Ministry of Heritage Tourism Sport & Culture Industries for the support of the sport sector during these challenging times. This support is appreciated by member clubs and their program participants.
