These programs are about far more than XCSO’s race team criteria. They are about capacity building at the club level.

In alignment with its 2023-2028 Strategic Plan, Cross Country Ski Ontario (XCSO) supports the pursuit of excellence whether you are an athlete, coach, official, wax technician, or event host. We are committed to ensuring that Ontario clubs, athletes, coaches, wax technicians, volunteers and officials are consistently recognized as among Canada’s best. Our objectives include developing more clubs that provide quality, intentional, and consistent daily training environments; developing more clubs capable of hosting Ontario Cup races; and supporting athletes, coaches, technicians and officials in their pursuit of excellence within effective development pathways.

World Snow Day:

Sunday, January 21, 2023 is the official World Snow Day date.

World Snow Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the joys of winter and snow-related activities at your club. It’s an event that encourages people to get outside and enjoy the winter season. XCSO will provide guidelines.

In the meantime we encourage you to consider hosting a World Snow Day Celebration at your club or in your community by registering this event with FIS, and putting the date on your club calendar. It would be great to see some more red diamonds on the FIS map!

Muskoka Loppet

The annual Muskoka Loppet is scheduled for Sunday, January 28th at 10:30 am.
This is a Classic Technique event.
Distance: 5 km, 15km or 30 km.

Arrowhead Nordic is excited to host the Ontario Masters’ Championships:

Friday, January 26th, 2024 at 2:00 pm: 10 km classic mass start
Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 10:00 am: 10 km free technique mass start
Sunday, January 28th, 2024 at 10:30 am: 15 or 30 km classic technique mass start
