NOD Athlete Race Support for 2018/19 Season

Are you an NOD athlete who wants to go to an Ontario Cup race or Nationals, but you don’t have a coach willing to go?  Or maybe your club doesn’t have a wax technician?  The NOD has an NOD team with a coach and wax technicians willing to help you.

The deadline to apply to be supported by the NOD team at a race this season is Dec 15, 2018.

SOD Team: Coach Mentorship Opportunity!

SOD is seeking an assistant coach to attend the SOD Team winter training camp to be held at Highlands Nordic: December 22, 2018 from 8am to 4pm.  Anyone interested in fulfilling a future role as either SOD Team coach or SOD Team assistant coach is highly encouraged to apply. An honorarium of 200$ will be provided.

Candidates are asked to provide a coaching resume and brief outline of their interest in the position.  Ideally, the successful candidate would possess L2T qualifications. A Vulnerable Sector police reference check is required.

Kawartha Nordic Skiathlon  and Georgian Nordic Team Sprints.  Mark your calendars, its going to be an exciting and busy winter. This year boasts our biggest line up yet with a total of 9 races.

We have also expanded our age category offerings to include more youth categories. This is in part due to newly created categories at this years Ontario Youth Championships in North Bay.

Show up and race hard for your chance to become part of next years SOD Team, meet new friends and be active outside. Looking forward to seeing everyone out on the trails!

Sports related anxiety survey

Female survey participants between the ages of 13 to 17 years needed for “An examination of the factors influencing sports related anxiety in adolescent females”. The purpose of the study is to identify common factors amongst females influencing sports related anxiety. Laura Inkila, 4th year undergraduate student at Carleton University is currently completing her thesis project focussing on the experiences of sports related anxiety in females between the ages of 13-17  years old.  More information.
