Here is the latest edition of the NOD Nordic News.
Please note that due to our circumstances this year we have decided to postpone our annual Ski Swap to 2019.
We are looking forward to a great 2018/2019 winter season and our staff is working hard to prepare our temporary infrastructure to best serve you. We apologize for the inconvenience this might cause.
This past weekend marked the first official SOD team training camp of the 2018/2019 season. A group of 20 ambitious young skiers collected in Huntsville, Ontario for a day of developing ski specific skills and to socialize with other developing athletes from around the region. The assistant coach for the camp, Soph Marshall, helped to lead the group through ski striding skills, skate rollerski technique drills, a team track intensity and a relaxing yoga session. The group also worked on some race prep skills in preparation for the first races of the season and developed some goals to strive for, for the second camp on December 22. The team finished off the day with a productive de-brief, coming up with suggestions and ideas of what they wanted to work on during the next camp together. Overall the group brought a great energy to the day, and there have been reports of some very sleepy athletes on the car rides home!
I look forward to working with the athletes again, on snow!
