Ontario Winter Games Venue UPDATE

Weather continues to present challenges to race organizers this season.  The Chief of Competition and Chief of Course completed an assessment of the Horseshoe and will be moving the races to the alpine portion of the Horseshoe facility.  Due to snowmaking all season the base is very good.  Courses will be modified to include some climb portions of the downhill runs and will be a multi-lap race.  All athletes will be able to pre-ski the course beginning at 1pm on Wednesday, Feb 28.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  The race techniques will be flipped to CLASSIC SPRINTS  on Thursday & FREE TECHNIQUE interval start on Friday.

Sport-specific ICC online – Free until March 31, 2018

Introduction to Community Sport (ICC) level is now fully online.

Follow these steps to complete your ICC level:

1.) Log into the Locker or create a NCCP #-> www.coach.ca -> on the right is a grey tab: The Locker
2.) Go to e-learning: on top, drop down menu: Multi-Sport. Complete Coach Initiation in Sport; $15, takes about 1 hour
3.) Go back to drop down menu and select Cross Country Skiing: Complete Introduction to Community Coaching; free now, takes about 3 hours but you can leave at any time and get back at the same spot later

The online ICC is still being piloted at this point and feedback in a survey monkey will be collected from all users. After March 31st, access to the module will be interrupted and we will launch the final review of the module to produce the official version in time for next season (targeting next September) in both languages. When the final version is launched in early fall 2018, the registration fee will be $51.50 for the ICC.

A couple of side notes when completing the online module:

Be patient when clicking on e-learning sports’ menu items. It takes a little while to upload.
You will need Adobe Flash or HTML5.You will be prompted to upload/activate the latest version of your computer default player.
If your browser can’t read it, try a different browser such as Google Chrome which you can upload for free from the internet.
